Belle and Rumple OUAT duo…

Hi there! Today I’m going to waffle on a bit about some lovely Danglefoot polishes. I had been trying to get my hands on the Belle and Rumple duo for some time. Each time it sold out on the store very quickly and I was so sad as I kept seeing these beautiful swatches, taunting me for not being faster at checking out online.

The Belle and Rumple duo was a collaboration between Hayley, of Danglefoot Nail Polish and Becca, of A Certain Becca Nails. It was based on characters from Once Upon a Time, Belle (obviously!) and Rumpelstiltskin. I have to add, I have never watched it myself but you can still fall in love with polishes even without knowing the backstory!

So, here is what I got my pretty little paws on:

This pewter grey polish is called ‘Hello Dearies’ and represents Rumpelstiltskin, however, it is no Grimm polish (geddit?). It is a fabulous linear holo with flakes of green and a slight golden shimmer. It covers nicely in one careful coat, but adding a second really makes the colours stand out and sparkle (not to mention the fact that I have a compulsive need to two-coat every polish!). I always pop on a top coat as it makes holo pigments stand out a little more and you can never have enough holo!

This stunner represents Belle. It is a turquoise thermal polish with blue flakes and scattered holo. When cold it is turquoise but changes to a light blue-grey which really makes the flakies stand out. The thermal of the polish reacts really quickly so it’s great fun washing your hands or drying them with a hand-dryer! I would say it definitely needs two coats but only to make the turquoise really pop. I always think applying thermals is great fun as the polish is the cold colour on your brush and the warm colour as you brush it on your nails, it’s such an odd thing, but funny! 🙂

So then, thoughts on this duo? Formula: flawless. Application: easy and smooth. Colours: I love the colours individually but they also work very well together. My favourite: Definitely Belle, only for that stunning turquoise, it’s just sooooo pretty! I can’t fault these at all, I’ve not bought a polish from Danglefoot yet that has been anything less that awesome. I’m so glad I finally managed to get a set (only took three batch releases!) and would highly recommend bugging Hayley to make some more 😉
