Hello again! I have one more item for you from Beauty Big Bang this weekend. I’ve rather enjoyed doing these reviews and I’m hoping I’ll have some more for you soon š
The final item that I chose from Beauty Big Bang was the XL Silicone Nail Stamping Mat.
The mat IS extra large, it measures in at 40x30cm and comes rolled in a cardboard tube with lid. The tube lists the features of the mat as:
- Reverse stamping effect
- Test different colour combo
- Making DIY stamping decals and water marble
- Flexible & simple clean up

The mat comes with lots of different sections: nail guides up the sides (as well as the middle) for you to test your stamping images or to make decals; sections which I assume are for you to use as a palette area for you polishes/acrylic paints; some other circular sections with a thicker outline which most likely makes them the marbling areas; and finally a ruler, handy for measuring the images on your nail plates to make sure they’ll fit your nails.
The mat is slightly “tacky”, meaning that your brushes/tools don’t go rolling all over the mat (and across your decals!) but “stick” in one place which I thought was great.
I had a go at using the thicker-outline circles to do a spot of watermarbling, but the fact that I’ve not tried it using this method before coupled with the apparent wonky-ness of my desk meant that I wasn’t wholly successful! š

I did however, successfully make lots of decals using a couple of the designs from the Sun Flower nail stamping plate (number 10) that I reviewed yesterday (you can find that review here) and the Silicone Clear Jelly Stamper (review here).

These are the finished designs:

I think this mat is great value and has a fantastic design. I like that it comes rolled in a cardboard tube as I always struggle with storing things but this can safely stand at the back of my nail desk. I also like that there are 25 finger/nail guides on the mat, more than enough for when you want to make lots of decals in advance.
It’s also simple to clean, just roll over with a lint roller to remove any excess stamping images or splashes of nail polish. As it has a tacky surface it did fight with the lint roller at first (!) but I think it’s a good trade-off so that the mat is easy to stamp on.
