‘Ard As Nails Spring Collection…

Hi again guys! I’m back with another collection for you this week, this time the Spring Collection by ‘Ard As Nails.

I’m really looking forward to Spring, the horrible, cold, sleety days are just boring now. I hate it when you need a scarf and a pair of sunglasses at the same time! Plus, I could do with some more sunshine to improve my seasonal affective disorder.

Anyhoo.. let’s take a look at some pretty polishes! The Spring Collection is made up of five thermal cremes all with a sprinkling of holo. They are very reactive to temperature, which is part of the reason that there are so many colours going on in the pictures! I have shown the extreme cold and hot states (single colour pictures) as well as the natural transition. The macros may show a more subtle state with a slightly different colour combo.

First up is “Umbrella” a mid-blue to light blue, which changes to a vanilla when very cold. I am completely in love with the cold state blue! It is so stunning and I kept running my hands under the cold tap to get it to stay!

(L-R: cold, transition, hot).

As you can see, the transition has a blue/vanilla tone but the macro shows the blue tones better:

Next up is “Caterpillar”, which has a brown to olive-biscuit transition and at times a third band of reddy-brown between the two. I was excited to spot this as when I was swatching I took it that they were all two-tone polishes!

(L-R: cold, transition, hot).

I LOVE that line of extra colour in there! It made an appearance in the macro too 😀

The third polish in the collection is called “Butterfly” and is a mid-pink to lilac. The holo is more subtle in this polish, I think just because of the lighter colours masking the twinkle.

(L-R: cold, transition, hot).

I love the dusky hue of the cold state! Here’s a macro, you can see the holo better:

The next polish is called “Meadows” and is a grey-brown to green thermal. I love the colours in this one, definitely a winter-into-spring polish. The cold state has a purple tinge to it, I think.

(L-R: cold, transition, hot).

And of course, the macro:

The last polish today is called “Blossom” and it has a brown to peachy-pink transition. These colours go beautifully together and such a pretty name too, like the winter trees waking up with their new leaves and flowers. (L-R: cold, transition, hot).

In the macro the peachy-pink is a smidge warmer and shows more as a pink than in the cold when it looks more nude:

Ok then! I’m going to be really boring and say that I don’t have a favourite as it’s quite hard to decide this time. I like each polish for a different reason and it’s too difficult to stick with just one. The formula is spot on as usual and all of the pictures were an easy two coats and top coat.

This is a fantastic collection for this time of year as my fingers are not constantly freezing anymore, letting the polish go back and forward through its transition as I’m in and out of the house or even just going from one room to another ( I have heating, I promise!).

The Spring Collection will be released tomorrow ( February 9th) so pop on over to ‘Ard As Nails to get yours and don’t forget to follow on Instagram so that you can keep up to date with release details and other swatches!

I will have another polish review for you tomorrow (a completely new brand for me!) and a couple more Beauty Big Bang items over the weekend so pop back and have a read!

‘Til next time… x
