Hello lovelies! I’ve been busy as usual trying to balance all of my stuff to do around the house with all of the pretty polishes that I want to try. As always, I fail miserably! 😉 But anyhoo…
The lovely Kat from ‘Ard As Nails very kindly asked me to swatch her new collection and of course I said yes! (I’m not daft 😀 …Well…)
So then, The 9-5 Collection is five polishes that would be considered more “work friendly”, nothing too bright or glittery but not dull and boring, basically perfect for the nail polish addicts out there.
First up is “Commuter Hell” a muted bronze holo. This is so very twinkly and is one of my favourites of the collection. Shown below is two coats and top coat.
Next up is “Morning Rush” which is a dusky pink holo polish. I love pink so this is definitely a 5 star polish for me, shown below is two coats and top coat.
The third polish in the collection is called “Lunch Date”, a pale gold holo. I’m not usually one for gold polishes but this is nice and subtle, but suitably sparkly. Again, two coats and top coat shown.
Next we have “Coffee Break”, a latte coloured holo which is just perfect for work. Shown below, two coats and top coat.
The last polish in the collection is the aptly named “Friday, Fri-yay!”. This is a darker, almost brown-toned pink. I think it lies very nicely between “Coffee Break” and “Morning Rush”. Shown is two coats and top coat.
Ok then, my thoughts on this collection….
Formula: I’m not going to beat around the bush, the formula of these polishes is spot on. No issues, two easy coats. (That was very simple, wasn’t it?)
Colours: There is a lovely range of colours here. I know Kat worked very hard to find a set of five polishes that fit together nicely (I have the extra polishes to prove it!). There is something for everyone here and something neutral for every skin tone, I think. The colours sit nicely together as a set, too.
Overall: I think that these polishes will be great fit for that neutral kind of colour people search for to wear at work. Not only that, but the more neutral/muted tones are just perfect for Autumn. They’re easy to work with, meaning a quick, no-fuss mani ready for work the next day or even a quick polish change before meeting the girls for lunch.
