I’m always a little nervous when reviewing a brand I haven’t used before, more so when I have been asked to swatch polishes by the maker. The same things run through my head; “What if I don’t like them, I don’t want to be mean…”, “What if they’re awful?!”, “I need to give an honest, unbiased opinion..”. I like to make sure that I’m giving my true view of the polish as there’s no point in reviewing if you just make things up to please the maker/audience. On the flip side, I’ll get a genuine sense of wonder when I try an new brand and it’s amazing, I’ll actually utter an “Ooh!” or a “Wow!”. Much like when I was sent the Halloween Collection by Nikki at Little Fudges Beauty Shop.
The Halloween Collection consists of four polishes which would be great for Halloween time or even some Halloween themed nail art.
The first of the polishes is Bathory’s Desire, a deep, blood red creme with a very subtle shimmer. I’ll admit, I had to Google Lady Bathory as I’d heard her name before but didn’t know the story. Well, let’s just say, after reading about her horrendous antics this polish, the colour of blood, suits her down to the ground!
Bathory’s Desire went on flawlessly in two thin coats, shown below with top coat.

With matte top coat:

The second polish in the collection is ‘Wicca’d’, a beautiful violet polish with lots of silver shimmer. This, again, applied beautifully in two coats and is shown below with top coat. The silver shimmer really makes it stand out as it changes the look of the polish, depending on the light or angle of viewing, from lighter to darker.

The third polish is called ‘Lemuralia’ which, again, I had to Google! It is named after an Ancient Roman festival where scared and malevolent spirits are exorcised. Spooky, eh? Maybe it’s the spirits that give this deep Blue, almost black Jelly it’s sparkle… or maybe it just the gold holo glitter. This polish is very deep and the jelly base gives it multi-layered sparkle. Shown is two coats and top coat.

The last polish of the collection is ‘Pumpking’, a bright orange shimmer which shines gold. This is beautiful, spot on for the colour of pumpkins 🎃 This one covered beautifully in two coats too, the polish itself feels like a cross between a jelly and a creme so it was strange to apply but definitely in a good way!

nd again with matte top coat:

mentioned before, these polishes would be perfect for some Halloween nail art, so I did these little manis:
<
his was ‘Lemuralia’ stamped using Barry M ‘Silver Foil’ and UberChic Halloween plate 02 and Lina Spookilicious plate for the dangling spider. This polish would also be perfect as the base of a space themed mani.
<
his was ‘Pumpking’ stamper using Moyou ‘Black Knight’ and UberChic Halloween plate 02, with a little ‘Bathory’s Desire’ for the blood. I love those cute pumpkin faces!
I hope to do a couple more Halloween manis, I’ve been feeling very poorly this week but hopefully will soon be fighting fit. Keep an eye on my Instagram: @princessmonkee for more!
Ok then, thoughts on this collection:
Formula: the formula was perfect on each polish, great coverage and easy to apply. None were too thick or too thin and dried in a normal amount of time.
Colours: the colours are perfect for Halloween and for afterwards too! I can see ‘Pumpking’ in autumn leaf manis and the other three would be perfect additions in any mani. There’s a little something for everyone here so even if you don’t like them all I bet you’ll love at least one of them!
Overall: I was very impressed by these polishes. With it being my first try of this new brand I didn’t know what to expect but I can honestly say that I would be happy to buy and recommend these polishes. Nikki’s shop has only been open a relatively short while but she has made some lovely polishes in various colours and I can’t wait to try some more. I can’t really fault anything. The presentation is spot on too, with neat, square bottles and pretty custom labels.
If you would like to try your own Little Fudge’s polishes then check them out on Instagram or have a look at their website.
