Hi guys! I finally have some pretty polishes to share with you. Annette at Rainbow Connection was kind enough to send me some of the new Star Wars polishes by Esmaltes da Kelly. I loved them so much I had to buy a couple more! (I’ll show you soon!)
These polishes are highly pigmented and will cover in one coat and they are amazing at stamping, even over black. Let’s have a look! 🙂
The first polish is called Stormtrooper. It is a pale grey with a silver shimmer and I just love how subtle yet gorgeous this looks over black! Shown below is one coat plus top coat and then stamping over black and white. Look how crisp the stamping is!
Next up is Boba Fett. This is a bright green polish with a silver shimmer. I love greens and this really is a stunner. I also love how it doesn’t lose it brightness when stamped over black.
Third in the SW line-up is Kylo Ren. Now I hate Kylo, I think he’s a giant… chump, however this polish is beautiful. It’s a metallic grey and applies wonderfully 🙂
This pretty little thing is Ren. A purple polish with silver and blue shimmer, this is vibrant and simply stunning.
So then,thoughts on the polishes…
Formula: The coverage of these polishes is amazing without the polish being too thick. I NEVER use one coat for swatches, even when the polish is labelled as a one-coater, however, I had to give in with this collection as using a second coat would just be wasting this beautiful polish! A one-coat wonder collection which was easy to apply too *swoon*.
Colours: With 15 colours available, this has something for everyone although, some of the colours don’t quite match the characters in this case. For instance, I thought Kylo Ren should have been a bit darker or even black though you could argue that he’s not a bad guy at heart so he shouldn’t be given a dark colour but that would start me off waffling about fan theories on the evolution of Kylo’s character… Back to the colours though, as a collection, there is a good variety and the colours that are available are beautiful.
Favourite?: Out of the 4 polishes that I was sent I think that Boba Fett (green) is my favourite, probably just cos it is so very nice and bright 🙂
Overall: I really enjoyed playing around with these polishes and was very impressed in the coverage, even over black. I loved the fact that they were true one-coaters and can’t wait to try some more. I think this is a brilliant collection and is great value too, each bottle retails at £6.50 at Rainbow Connection.
