Hello again! I promised a look at another beautiful Princess Nail Lacquer collection and here it is. This is the Bitten Trio, three gorgeous, deep and dark holographic polishes. Now I have never been the type of person to follow seasonal nail polish styles too closely. If I want to wear a hot pink in December and a vampy black in July then I will! This collection calls to those of us who fish around in the drawer for something deep and moody whilst the rest of the world is wearing pastels and neons (and sunglasses, those neons are bright!).
The first of the trio is ‘Bitten’, a deep berry/wine linear holo. This is very eye-catching, deep and sultry one moment, but then it dances when the sunlight hits it. This would cover well in one coat on shorter nails but two coats gives a stronger depth of colour.

And it looks lovely matte too!

The next polish is called ‘Pick Your Poison’, an almost blackened blue linear holo with holo flakies. The flakies in this make the polish shine when the light hits it and looks very much like the night sky (if the starts were holographic of course!). Again, this has good coverage but I would recommend two coats just to get that blue nice and deep.

The last polish of the trio is called ‘Love Bite’, a dark pink/deep fuchsia linear holo with holo flakies. Like ‘Pick Your Poison’, the flakies really stand out in this polish which gives it a lovely depth which is quite stunning. Once more, one coat on shorter nails would do fine but two coats is where it’s at. Plus my nail OCD likes two coats! 🙂

This is another beautiful collection from Princess Nail Lacquer. I really think this will be popular with those who would prefer an ‘anti-summer’ look. They would also look lovely for a nice evening ‘do, just as you would change your make up for something darker in the evening, these would look amazing when you’re dressed up and the sun has gone to bed.
A few thoughts on the trio:
- Formula – absolutely spot on. I had no trouble at all with these polishes, in fact I managed to swatch them all in the equivalent of an evening as they just play so nicely. I didn’t find any staining with the application, but to be fair, I’m not that messy anymore.
- Colours – for deep and dark colours there is a fantastic choice. I would say that a green would have fit nicely in there but there is already a gorgeous green in the newly released PNL Up All Night collection (check that out here), plus, if there were another polish then it wouldn’t be a trio! 😉
- Overall – if you struggle with all of the bright polish colours that the summertime brings, then this trio is for you. If you like deep, dark holos then this trio is for you. Heck, if you like pretty polishes, then this trio is for you too! I really liked this collection, definitely a few “ooh’s” from me as I was swatching!
- Favourite polish? – Now this is very unlike me but I would have to go with ‘Pick Your Poison’, that blue is just so stunning! I do truly love all three colours though but ‘PYP’ just jumps ahead a little, it must be the whole sky thing…
The Bitten Trio will be available from Princess Nail Lacquer on the 5th of July at 7pm so make sure to get in and grab yours, here.
Which polish did you like the best? Do you stick to seasonal colours for your manis? Let me know in the comments below!
Thank you for reading, ’til next time… x
***These polishes were sent to me for the purpose of swatching, the above review is my own thoughts***
