PNL Up All Night collection 

Hi guys! It’s non-stop at princessmonkee HQ at the moment, I had swatch polishes coming out of my ears at one point! There will probably be a lot of posts over this week and next so make sure to check back!

Ashleigh, Miss Princess Nail Lacquer herself, has been busy mixing up a storm, with new collections being released over the next few weeks. She very kindly sent me two of these gorgeous collections, but for now we’ll concentrate on the Up All Night collection. 

When I first saw pictures of these polishes, what I love the most is that they’re not your typical summery polishes. Everyone at the moment is loving neons and pastels and the kind of colours that you bring out when the sun starts shining. These polishes however, are dark and gorgeous with lots of depth. Each has a black base with different colours of multi-chrome shimmer and scattered holo to give them that well-known PNL bling. Let’s have a look!

First up is ‘Stargazing’, this is a black base with blue to purple shimmer. With the added scattered holo this really does look like the night sky and would be perfect for the base of a galaxy mani!

Up next is ‘Midnight Feast’, which has pink to gold to green shimmer in a black base. This combination of colours gives the polish a pinky-bronze colour that is quite stunning. 

The next Polish in the collection is ‘Shots, Shots, Shots!’, a black base with red to pink to gold shimmer. This little number is another that has a bronze tone from the mix of shimmer colours but it has a gorgeous pink flash too. 

The last polish in the collection is ‘Insomnia’. Green to purple shimmer shines in the black base to give a lovely glow as the purple catches your eye.

This was my first time swatching multi-chrome polishes. There is definitely a knack to capturing the full colour shift and short of taking shots of my nails submerged in water, I haven’t found the knack yet but I shall persevere! Ok, onto the review part!

• Formula – as with lots of shimmer polishes, the first coat always looks quite sheer and patchy but the second coat covers beautifully. Not once did I have an issue which would require a third coat, the formula and application was flawless. 
• Colours – the range of colours is amazing. You’d be forgiven for thinking that there couldn’t be much variation between four black-based polishes but the shimmer really shows through and each polish looks unique to the others. 
• Overall – I really love this collection! I’m not the kind of person to stick to brights and pastels in summer and dark, gothic colours in the winter. If I want to wear black in July and hot pink in November, then I will do! So to have such a dark collection when everyone else is releasing neon collections is a nice change. These polishes were very easy to work with and the depth of colour shown by the shimmer is just stunning.
