Wow, doesn’t life just get busy at times! We’re getting closer to the March Meebox and I haven’t even covered the February installment yet! Let’s get on with it then….
I liked this months MeeBox, it had lovely colours, some polishes that I hadn’t tried before and some cool nail art items. The theme was Gatsby, so think roaring 20’s, flapper outfits, fancy dressed woman with cool headgear and handsome men in tails and spats 🙂 I was really excited to do some manis for this one, but, rather than get REALLY photo heavy I will follow up this post with one that covers the manis that I created.
So this is what greeted me when I excitedly ripped open the Feb MeeBox….

The first polish was Little Ondine, ‘Copper Spark’. I had heard of Little Ondine but had never tried them before. I was surprised to hear that their entire line is peel-off polishes so I wanted to see if they were as easy to peel off as they made it sound! This is a stunning polish, it’s a gorgeous colour and although it’s a little temperamental (glitters get that way…) it covers beautifully and is just amazing to look at. Plus, it really DOES peel easily!

Next was a gorgeous black creme, Maggie Anne ‘Pearl’. It’s not a one-coater, HOWEVER, the formula is so beautiful that you won’t mind at all doing a second coat! I hadn’t tried this brand before either but would definitely be tempted if all of their polishes have such a dreamy formula!

The last polish was Color Club ‘Midnight Mulberry’. I’m terrible for collecting polishes so I was glad to have another Color Club! This dusky purple creme was great to work with and such a nice colour, definitely my favourite colour from this month’s box.

We also received two nail art items in the box this month. The first was some nail vinyls from nail-mail.co.uk. I had to laugh as I had just the week before ordered the same kind of shaped vinyls from another nail art site (!) but it was good to have some more as this shape is just so versatile. For one mani I cut them up to get the shape that I wanted, they’re just so easy to use.

The second nail art item was a bag of gold nail caviar from Sparkly Nails. I had never heard of them before so it was nice to try something new. You get a large amount of nail caviar in such a small bag so that was great, what wasn’t great however was the fact that I managed to get them EVERYWHERE!! Ha ha! You do really need to be careful!

So, what can I say? I enjoyed this month’s MeeBox. The colours fit the theme of Gatsby very well, however, the polishes were still useful in a day-to-day setting. My favourite? Wow, it’s difficult. I like them all equally really. I like the Little Ondine for the sparkle and the fact that it’s a peel-off polish. I like the Color Club for the gorgeous colour and I like the Maggie Anne for the flawless formula. Basically, I like them all! The nail art items were great too, the nail caviar is good quality, not cheap little balls with flaky paint and extra bits from the mould sticking out (eBay, I’m looking at you…). The nail vinyls are fantastic, they keep their shape well and peel of nicely, they’re not overly sticky to ruin your hard work.
I’m looking forward to seeing what the girls over at MeeBox have planned for March. The theme will be Miami Nice (like Miami Vice, geddit?) so I’m seeing bold, bright blues, pinks and greens and probably a white nail art item…. maybe?
What did you think of this month’s box? x
