I’ve not been doing anything nail related, partly as I have been very busy with my daughter’s first birthday but also as I have a bit of a depressing nail situation going on. My index fingernail on my swatch hand is continually splitting and breaking so it doesn’t look as pretty as it’s four well behaved sisters and it makes me not want to swatch 😦
Anyhoo! When the MeeBox arrived this morning I thought that I would dip my toe back into the nail polish pool and see what happened…
The theme for January 2017 is Galantines. It falls on the 13th of February and is all about your girl friends and how much you love them! Part of the MeeBox this month was an extra polish which is intended for your bestie. So show her some love and pass it on!
Aren’t they the cutest? These two polishes from ncLA, called “Friends” and “Forever”, are for you and your best Galentine. “Friends” is a deep, pillar box red and “Forever” is a pinky-red base with holo glitter and red heart pieces. The swatch was a bit ‘fish and place’ but it’s still pretty.
Next up are Models Own Colour Chrome in “Rose” and Nails Inc Hyde Park Place”. I already own both of these in minis so I can say that the Nails Inc is a beautiful grey with the teeniest hint of pink and is a great base for nail art or just as a ‘work polish’. The Models Own is far from a shiny mirror-type chrome polish but the colour is beautiful, think Cirque Halcyon but without the shiny flake finish. I’m happy to now have full sized bottles of each of these 🙂

Next we have a Lauren B. Beauty polishing hand scrub and a Cuccio Naturale Butter. I have not used either of these brands before but I was very impressed. The hand scrub smells amazing, like a day at the spa, thanks to the essential oils as does the Cuccio butter. It has a yummy honey smell without being overpowering. I think I’ll keep this in my bag for splodging on my cuticles now and then 🙂
Right then, some new brands for me this month and some that I know are great. A good selection, well worth the £20 subscription. I’ll try and get some swatches/nail art up this time. I fell out with swatching around the time of the last MeeBox but I’m hoping my love for it returns as my index nail does :’)
